South Chennai Lok Sabha Constituency

Chennai South, one of three Lok Sabha constituencies in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is the 3rd Parliamentary Constituency out of 39 in the state. Initially known as Madras South, it was established in 1957 by dividing the Madras Lok Sabha constituency and is among the most densely populated parliamentary constituencies in South India. Following the delimitation in 2009, Chennai South now comprises the following assembly segments: 1. Virugampakkam (Constituency number 22), located in Chennai District, is not reserved and is represented by the DMK party. 2. Saidapet (Constituency number 23), also in Chennai, is not reserved and falls under the DMK. 3. Thiyagarayanagar (Constituency number 24), another non-reserved constituency in Chennai, is held by the DMK. 4.
